Doctor Arrested For Prescribing Costly Medicines

A vigilance director arrested a professor of a medical college for favouring pharma companies by prescribing costly medications to poor patients. The doctor being a nodal officer of state government provided financial assistance to poor patients for treatment by availing OSTF benefits. In spite of cheaper medicines being available, he prescribed the costly ones. Due to this corruption, the state government spent hugely on medicines of the particular company unnecessarily. Even the patients had to suffer as the money sanctioned to them under OSTF was exhausted in the middle of the treatment due to costly medicines prescribed. The doctor was charged for abusing official position, favouring different pharmaceutical companies, cheating and misappropriation of government funds. Source: Times of India

About Founder of the Journal....

Dr. Bhaskar K. Singh is Medical Graduate in Naturopathy and Yogic Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health S ciences, Karnataka, India.. He is ex-General Secretary of Indian Naturopathy and Yoga Graduates Association(R). He worked with many organizations like B.M.S. foundation, sVYASA, Progressive Foundation for Peoples, SKD Charitable Society, Newdelhi etc to explore Yoga and Naturopathy to all sections of Society.He started Publishing this journal from Lucknow on 26 March 2005. He worked in Virgin Islands(United Kingdom) with Premkamal Group of Spas as Spa Supervisor and Trainer & Sohum Spas,Core Wellness Group as Assistant Spa Manager at Madhubhan Resort and Spa,Anand,Gujarat.

At present he is Chief Managing Director of ViRGiN NaTuRe Lifestyle Private Limited- A Pioneer Spa Management Consulting group which manages many domestic and International Projects & Director of K.K.Sinha Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital, Siwan, Bihar State of India.

He intends to bring Yoga and Naturopathy as main stream medical system in medical fraternity. These twin medical sytems are cost effective and they prevent many vulnerable diseases associated with life style like-Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Arthritis etc.

Activities/Projects undertaken by Progressive Foundaton for People.

Progressive Foundation for People is committed to explore traditional systems of Medicine like Naturopathy & Yoga, Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Soya Rigpa. We have been organizing Health awareness camps since last 19 Yrs in collaboration with National Institute of Naturopathy,Pune and Central council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy in different areas of Bihar state. In forthcoming days we intend to spread our movement to different locations in Bihar state. We are running K. K. Sinha Yoga, Naturopathy and Ayurveda Hospital at Siwan, Bihar.

Progressive Foundation for People is working for the empowerment of socio-economically deprived sections of society in remote areas of Bihar state,India mainly. We have been working for decades for recognition of "Homeless Mobile Tribal People" and their rehabilitation.

In past 19 yrs our organization has done extensive survey to find out some homeless tribes in Northern and Middle Bihar. We got success in this mission at larger extent and few thousand names were added in voter list. These tribal people have knowledge of traditional medicine and they practice in orthodox way.

Our organization is working in collaboration with Amitie-a West Bengal based non-government organization which works on HIV/AIDS prevention cum rehabilitation project.

Our organization is running a School in Sahatwar village to avail education to Children below poverty line.

Since last few months our organization is working in association with local administration to build low cost Lavatories in rural areas. This programme will have great impact on Hygiene and Sanitation of Socio-economically deprived sections of society.

Apart from this our organization is devoted to organize low income groups in rural areas to start small scale industries with the help of Government.

And the recent most activities are campaigns for reforesting rural areas, Horticulture etc.
